It’s time to shake it off!

When a gazelle faces a threat or narrowly escapes a predator, it possesses a remarkable ability to quickly recover and move forward:

It simply shakes off the intense energy and stress of the encounter. This act of shaking allows the gazelle to release tension and reset its nervous system, preparing for what lies ahead.

We can learn a valuable lesson from the gazelle's shake. Just like the gazelle, we encounter challenges and setbacks in our lives that leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck. It's during these moments that we can adopt the practice of shaking it off.

The shaking exercise helps to connect the body with its inherent self-restoring capacity and allows to release tension and anxious feelings within the body. This exercise can re-establish your balance after you have been triggered or feel upset about something. It can be done as often as needed and only takes a couple of minutes.

Shaking-Exercise:

Find a quiet space where you feel comfortable to move your body (this can be anywhere really, where you have a few moments for yourself). Start standing and focus on one body part at a time. For example, start by shaking out your hand, then the whole arm, move to the other arm, then the shoulders and so forth. Work your way through your whole body.

This can be done for 1 minute or 10 minutes.

So, next time you find yourself feeling weighed down by stress, setbacks, or negative experiences, channel your inner gazelle and shake it off. Release the tension, reset your mind and body, and embrace the resilience that lies within you. Remember, like the gazelle, you have the ability to bounce back, renew your spirit, and continue your journey with grace and determination.
